WIP Environments Queen's Vector

I'm excited to share progress on Quantum Winter Queen’s Vector, a narrative-driven Sci-Fi shooter that blends intense raid-like combat with player freedom. This project challenges players to approach each encounter in their own unique way, making every playthrough a fresh experience.

Below are some environments from Queen's Vector, currently in various stages of block-out. Crafting these environments has been a thrilling journey, balancing visual intrigue with gameplay needs to create engaging and fun combat experiences. The game follows the structure of a Raid shooter, with a mini-boss at the midpoint and a final boss at the end, providing exhilarating peaks in both combat and difficulty.

Lighting has been a key focus for me in this project. I love using strong color palettes to guide players and set the mood. From the early block-out stages, I visualize and plan the lighting to enhance the overall environment and gameplay.

In this room the player will fight a Drop ship. This is the halfway point of the game the drop ship servers as a mini boss.

In this room, the player must stand on the pad in the center while the orb travels to the other side of the platform to proceed to the next section.

Enter the boss room will trigger the room to flood forcing the player to the left side.

In the final boss room we have a platform on either side of the room that when the player steps on it will start to sink and send a charge to the boss. Shooting the charge will start the damage phase

Welcome to the void realm. This is a secret environment accessible by finding certain objects. Completing this level will reward the player with a weapon.

In this room, the player must activate the triangles on either side of the bigger pyramid.  Standing on the pads activates the pads but also triggers enemies to spawn.

This is a fun sequence, after a hard jumping puzzle the player must complete this simon says environment puzzle wile trying to stay alive. The reward is a secrete weapon!
